Good Day All! I'd like some help with a layout for my studio. I am in Miami, FL. USA This studio will be mainly for my voice-over work. However, I will also be tracking vocals for local singers & mixing tracks from time to time. The space is (9ft X 21ft) basically a rectangle with 8ft ceilings. I need a control room & a vocal booth. My budget for the build is no more than $2500 US. I am on the second floor of and office building with nobody below me. I have no neighbors to complain about noise as this is being built within my existing office location. I have not started any construction yet, I hope I've provided enough info. Thank you in advance to all those who weigh in on this studio design question. Also I saw Johns "Small Studio" sketch up and it looks like that might work for me but I am not at all familiar with using the program & I'm have trouble adapting it to my needs. K.C.

the simplest approach would be a simple diagonal wall separating the booth and CR. a slider door should be enough.

Wow thank you!!!! That looks great!! What if I wanted to use a set of swing doors instead of a slider & would it be possible to create a design that would allow me to soffit mount my monitors? Thanks again!!!
you could use a window and regular door or just a glass swing door. i think soffit mounting in this narrow a space will be tricky but it can be done.
