Hi there. So I have finally acquired my new space and wanna start getting the acoustics perfect as this will be my space for a couple of years to come. I have attached a GoogleSketchup file of the basic layout for my new premises. As you can see in SketchUp my control room is the biggest and the ISO booth the smallest. The ISO booth and the live room has actually got windows but they will be closed down and flush with the wall. My plan was to move the wall between the ISO booth and live room closer to the Control Room wall. Cause at this stage i think the ISO booth is a bit too big for what I need and that way I can get more space for my live room. Don't mind any doors as they can be moved easily. Any advice on this would be much appreciated. The live room and ISO booth needs to be soundproof as much as can be done with drywalls (cannot build with bricks). Thanks in advance :P teeJay

welcome! any other details on the existing noise levels, neighbors etc which help us understand the isolation requirements?
Hi there. Ya. So it's in an office block. the space ive got on the Sketchup file is the furthest away from anyone. it's on the top floor of the building and in the far corner. the live room wall furthest away from the control room is actually the most problematic one as it is closest to neighboring offices. but i have had someone bang really loud on it while i stand at the neighbors' and i couldn't hear anything. basically i am gonna need some isolation to the outside but its not the biggest problem. Ive attached a rough Idea of what a friend and i (he knows only a little more than me about acoustics) thought would work well. As you can see the live room wall towards the iso booth is extended. There are double walls built most place in the live and iso booth. I need thoughts on this. the guys building my drywalls are family friends so we get decent prices from them. so as you can see ive drawn in that wall in the control room. do you think something like that could help? or must i rather spend money on actual acoustic products? thanks again teeJay

the hollow space between the door into the CR and the other rooms - is that available to you? or is that a common area and your space wraps around it?
Hi Glen. I put up another .skp file to show you roughly (not exact dimensions) what goes on there. There is basically another room there but not available for me to use. Hope that helps teeJay
