Hello Guys,
So its been a while since i have posted and i have been working on and off on my room.
Right now i am done with the Isolation part of my build, now its time for me to figure out the sofits and side walls.
Room Dim:17'6''(L),12'3''(W) ,7'6''(H) The live room is about the same size a liitle bit more here and there but still rectangular. I'm sorry i am not good with sketch up and i hardly have the time to lern.
I plan on shooting the speakers across the short side(i know its recomended to go the long way) but i prefer to work this way. :horse: .
Here are some pics of what i got.
I am planning on sof it mounting a pair of Single 15'' Augspurger that i have thier Dimentions are:19.5''(Deep)22.5''(Wide)32''(Tall)
I build the room rectangular and plan on using the space behind sofits and back corners for traps.
Any idea is welcome, especially yours Xspace :D i dont know if your still :cen: at me from last year but this form has brought my build to the next level.
Thanks in advance to all who read.
NB. i ALSO POSTED IN MY OLD POST UNDER FIREBLOCKING IN CONSTRUCTION.
Need help with sofits and accoustic ideas

I'm just wondering why you would want to do that? Is there a reason why you don't want to have the very best sounding room that you can get? - Stuart -I plan on shooting the speakers across the short side(i know its recomended to go the long way) but i prefer to work this way.
no reason the room cannot work on the short throw, just need to factor in the treatments to allow it. since the door would be on the front of the room if we went long ways, instead having the window on the side means we could incorporate it into the angled side wall treatment. we might have to extend the window isolation a bit to make it work but whats a little extra framing and drywall?
... Or the back...since the door would be on the front of the room if we went long ways,
agreed but i think rivernile's key point is looking at the performers while working the board, so getting the rear wall response down 15db, forcing obliques and tangential shifts, and using the front soffits for massive bass trapping along with a proper cloud things should be good...
True, but in the "across the room" version, the listening position is smack dab in the geometric center of the room, on at least two axes and most likely all three. Not the best place to be. That's my concern with that space.
I reckon if it were my room, I'd go with your second plan and just put in CCTV if looking directly at the talent is a big issue. (Or maybe put some rear-view mirrors on the console! :)
)

Oh my god ,i was wondering if you guys had abondand my post :yahoo:
Because i stupidly posted at first under my old post about Fire Blocking in the construction post.
Glen did you read my last post over in that thread about you building the cabinets and what it would cost?
I was going to start doing some more work on studio friday ,but my dog Died in the morning :( .
Man i tell you,i just cant find the energy to star doing anything. He was always there putting in his two cent.
Then i have to deal with my daughter crying all the time,he sleeps in her bed for 5 years.
Glenn please let me know if what i propposed in the other tread is posible.I like the first layout and i will no be putting in a Couch per say, more like a benchish.
Soundman ,i know you advised me about going accross the long way :horse: :) but i have gotten used to the other way.
Plus i have been in rooms simular to mine and they where able to work it in.
i answered your other post - no i don't build cabinets and i recommend discussing with your local builder on his specs as he may have information i do not such as the driver models etc which perhaps needs a different size than what i have shown.
you will have to reduce the size of the window to accommodate the soffits and i think you'll also need to move the speakers closer together. i think you meant Argosy console as a search for an Orgasy Table results in some, er, interesting sites.
