Hi Folks, here are my plans for the flush mount for my JBL 4425. Maybe some experienced user has some comment. I want to cover the front with 5cm of Fermacell to have enough mass, and a thin layer of nice wood, for optical reasons. I took the center of the speaker, put it in 1,50m height and angled the whole thing about 10 degrees. Then I will hit exactly the sweet spot in 2,50. Listeners ear position at 1,10m The box for the speaker stands on a pole filled with sand to make it solid. The space behind the speakers I want to fill with Sonorock, to have a superchunk. My questions: Superchunks or Hangers? The area below the speaker: Should I make it refelctive (drywall) with a port for bass absorption, or should I cover it with fabric for better working superchunks`?

if you have room - hangers. if not, build up the walls of cavity with the rigid insulation and fill the remaining space with pink (light) insulation. make sure the speaker is decoupled from the box - use some sylomer etc to keep it in place but not directly contacting the frame, or soffit front plate.
Thats exactly my plan. I have some sylomer here, should be enough. I got a recommendation not to angle the speakers, to have less phase shifting when moving my head forward and back. What do you think?
you could angle them but not too much as your ears are designed to hear a certain way but 8 to 10° as a maximum angle is a good guideline.
I draw it with 10. Then the Middle of the speaker is 1,50m high and points exactly to my ear in 1,10m.

Have you considered locating the speakers so that the middle is at ear height? If you are concerned about the low frequency drivers being too low, you can flip the speakers. Adnre
Yes, I took the middle of the speaker. I will try it later, flipping will be easy.
