Here is another one for you guys. I plan to purchase a wall mountable xlr socket / snake. What is the best way to pass the cable end of things through the control room wall in such a way to prevent sound leakage but still allow eventual repairing of wires and adding / changing wires coming in and out of the live room. For example I will require at first to have an HDMI cable running in addition to the XLRs included in the snake. I will eventually need to change / replace it when it it fails. Should I use a pipe filled with some kind of soundproof spray and feed the cable through that? Im not sure I can think of a better way which will allow wires to be changed over time but this to me seems like a major breach in soundproofing. Any advice is helpful here thanks!
use conduit (PVC or metal depending on your building code) which is offset and decoupled by using a rubber tube, seal ends with a putty pad etc. then you can pull your cable through it and pull it if needed.
