Hi, and thanks for a cracking web site.
There is probably a very good answer to this question about recording rooms (not mixing rooms)....
Why not make a circular recording room and focus efforts on absorbing the very predictable resonant frequency (s)?
Next question..
Am I a doofus?
Cheers

I would say, if anything that its not very practical in the environments that people have for there studios. I believe that many designs are a balance between having something with the usable space, sound transmission loss for what you plan to use the space for, and the rooms acoustical potential rather than a "Works better on paper" type design.
my two pence :D
David Moulton has built oval shaped control rooms and has a whole theory on using very high dispersion speakers. http://www.moultonlabs.com/more/brave_n ... om_design/
