New rehearsal and recording studio at a basement!

Hi there, This is my first post in this forum! My real name is Padelis and I am located at Ioannina city of Greece! Long story short, i own a PA rental company and i found a basement where i can setup a nice rehearsal and recording studio! I have all the equipment that it is needed! So it will cost me only the expenses to build it! To get into more details. The place that i found is a basement with 3.5meters height! The ceiling is at the level of the road! Above the basement there are some stores and above the stores, the first floor where there are some offices. From the second floor to the forth floor there are appartments! The room that i can build the CR and the live room measures 9,60meters by 7,20 meters! So to sum up the room is 9,60 x 7,20 x 3,50! The basement has already 4 toilets and another room where i can build a service room for electronics and stringed instruments! In general the whole basement is about 180 square meters! I would like to what are the options for the rooms so that i can do the best that i can! I am attaching a draft plan from sketchup! I have used it only half an hour so excuse me! Hi there! As i mention in the above draft plan only one half can be used as a studio! The other half is toilets and a service room! The half that will be used as a studio should have a lounge. At least this is my opinion! I am still learning the SketchUp software! I could hand draw the building but i like the SketchUp idea!

I want to upload an updated sketch but the forum won't let me! The size limit is 500Kb! My file is 1.32Mb!

save a copy and then take out components and materials you don't need and use the windows -> model info -> statistics -> purge.

It seems that the stairs take too much space on the room and on the hard disk!

Here is one of my thoughts! 2 live rooms, 1 CR and one vocal booth! What do you think?

i'd probably angle the wall between the CR and the live room and put the booth adjacent to the live room so you have the option to open it or not. not shown with angled wall here but approx room sizes.

Hi gulfo, Thank you for your responses! I am uploading another thought that i have! A CR and a big Live Room! I am just showing how i am thinking to split the big room! As soon as i decide how i should split the room then i will start designing the internals! Till then here we go! Also i would like you to know that one of the walls, the far right one which measures 10,70 meters is not parallel to the others! The ceiling is at 3.5 meters. I have calculated the cost and this shouldn't cost me more than 5000 euros! This has to do with the construction materials that i will need! I have all the audio equipment that i need so it will cost me only the materials and my personal time! I am waiting for your suggestions as my main thought is that a CR and a Live room is the best option! Cheers Padelis

Here is an updated file from the studio! I have designed the control room and added some scenes to the animation! I am waiting for your opinions! And something that i completely missed! The place that i am going to build the studio is not mine! I will rent it! The owner is waiting for an answer from me and my answer depends on your opinions and suggestions! Should i do it or should i find another place? Actually i have one more place in mind! I will check it on Monday! So i am waiting for your suggestions! Thank you very much for your time!

Hi! I went to check the other place but it was worst! The ceiling is at 2.5m and there are too many plumping tubes that are at ~2.10m height! And as always the owner claimed that it measures almost 135 square meters! This placed seemed to me that it measures around 90 square meters! The rent is lower but in my opinion this place doesn't suit my needs! Gullfo do you think that the first place isn't good? I am waiting for 2 more places to check! But i don't know when i will have an answer! What is your opinion? Can you give me some guidelines on how to choose the correct place for my needs? Cheers

I think the first place has potential. Good ceiling height and space. Maybe define how you want the space to work as recording studio versus rehearsal space.
