Live Room Ceiling

Trying to determine what is the best method for constructing the ceiling in my live room. Rods book points me toward an independently framed ceiling. Looking for some tips on how to get the most height out of the new ceiling while working around the existing structure. The low point of the existing structure is 11'. The Live Room is going to be 20' long by 15' wide. The floor will be stained concrete, will be used for recording drums, bass, band rehearsal etc... I've attached a photo of the current space where the future live room will be. Also attached the layout that Glenn helped me come up with. The photo should be a good indicator of what I'm up against.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Steve
How much isolation do you need? If the 11' is to the bottom of rafters consider putting the second leaf of thew roof against the first leaf and putting csometic treatment on the rafters giving greater height. On the inner roof (ceiling) have room treatment materials. Andre
I have a similar situation in the space I'm planning my build - in a detached garage. Would be curious to see how you treat the rafters cosmetically and what you do with the ceiling/roof. I want to maintain as much height at possible as it will be a live room for drums. If anyone knows of other threads where this has been done I'd love to see them. Sorry for the interruption. Best of luck with your build Driver!
Andre, Thank you for the quick response. The measurement of 11' is to the bottom of the rafters. Isolation will not be an issue. Hoping to attach the second leaf to the first leaf as u have suggested and possibly using RC-2 Channel with two layers of 5/8 drywall and green glue, upon approval from the engineer of course. This is great news. don't need to build a new ceiling, gain 4+ feet of height and will have a live room with an angled ceiling. love the idea of having the exposed rafters. Correct me if I'm wrong, the rafters won't need any kind acoustic treatment, just a coat of paint. Would like to sand them and put some poly on but that might be impractical. Also, there is a large piece of conduit that currently runs along the top of the wall. What is the best way to deal with the conduit? Shorty, I will be posting some photos upon completion of the room, good luck with your project.. This project keeps getting better and coming more into focus everyday with help from the people on this forum. I'm forever grateful and hope to share my experience for the benefit of other forum members. Steve
Others will jump in the other question.

If isolation is not an issue (no weather, aircraft) why the significant expense of Green Glue? Last time I checked, it was around 30$ per 32 sq ft. Or (And this meant helpfully) you have not seriously worked out your isolation needs? Andre
