So I'm in the design phase of a new studio & should be moving in on October 1st.
I posted late last night about the layout of the space and got some very helpful tips from Glenn ( Thx Glenn)

If you reference the 3 rough sketches I've attached you can see that the only entry point into the control room is through the live room.

The landlord does not want me to interfere with the current layout ie moving walls, doors, etc....
So I need to build a wall that will not destroy the current carpet and cieling, ( May have to have a talk about the carpet or cover it with plywood)
I'm wondering if it is even feasible to build my seperation wall utilizing a double paned sliding glass door, I've found one in good shape with the frame for $125
Saw some posts about it on the forum and it seems like the thing other folks have been doing with sliding glass doors is doubling them up and offsetting them.
I can attach to the ceiling above the drop ceiling and to the existing walls and floor, also thought about covering the side of the sliding glass door that doesn't move with birch plywood and then add some diffuser. Also plan to have some gobos floating around the studios for makeshift vocal isolation etc.... that could be put in front of the glass when needed
This is my first studio and is limited by the space and budget of course, not expecting anything miraculous but would like to make it as professional as possible.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Steve

After further investigation it's obvious that double pane glass is not suitable for this application, please excuse the newbie post.
Got an estimate for a sliding door with an STC rating of around 35 and it was $3000, which is more than I want to invest in a door for this space.
Happened upon some 2" thick bulletproof glass that may be an option but it does not solve my entrance issues.
