Using both res channel and slot resonators

First time post......Ive been cruising the site and reading about slot resonators, but have never used or constructed one. Currently I'm using sound clip/res channel and green glue in the 3rd car portion of my garage (20' x 10') and love it! Now Im moving into another house and want to do the same thing with the garage, but this time focusing more on the interior. Need a more suitable mixing/recording environment. Is it common to use both res channel/sound clips and slot resonator panels in the same space? Would both be redundant considering its only a project space? I need to keep enough from getting out for a loud band practice and enough interior work to break up standing waves. Thanks, a lot!
