I have been browsing your posts for a few weeks and saw some great dialogue and designs, but not quite what I am looking for. I will be building a new structure this summer and am in design phase currently. I can set aside a 16' wide by 22' long space for a studio area. I am planning on 9' or 10' ceilings for this space. I am hopeful I can squeeze in three individual areas: one space for main studio area that could accomodate a drummer and up to two or three other musicians and their gear, a moderate sized space for a control room, and one small space for a vocal or guitar amp isolation booth. My space is your palette - give me some ideas!
HELP!!! Need design help for 22' x 16' space

John: Thanks so much for this design, you do not know how much I appreciate it. Everything I had come up with just was not working. I do have a question on ceiling configuration. I kind of have free reign on slope or hanging diffusers - do I go with a sloped ceiling to reduce flutter echo and resonance between the floor and ceiling? Or am I better off to leave as a parallel ceiling to floor relationship and tune with hanging diffusers?
It really depends on the construction style you are using. If you go for the 10' ceiling you can keep it flat and then build a sloped ceiling on the studio underneath. Otherwise go flat with angled clouds etc.
