Hi Forum,
i'm setting up a rehearsal room in a basement 3 meter height, 4,20 meter long and 6 meter wide.
Unfortunately at length center i have a estructural beam of 0,45 x 0,45m. alowing only a 2,55 m height.
I intend to build a floating floor 15 cm high so headroom is getting critical and still have to build ceiling isolation.
To get things worse, the band include electric bass.
the room has 25 square meters so i wont alow more than a 60 what combo.
Any clues for predictable trouble and a solution for cieling?
desperATE state people! :-0

If you are in a basement, why on earth would you need a floating floor? :shock:i'm setting up a rehearsal room in a basement ... I intend to build a floating floor 15 cm high
Ceiling isolation by itself won't be much use unless you also isolate the walls.headroom is getting critical and still have to build ceiling isolation.
Depends on what you need, and what you have, and what your budget is, and how loud you are, and all of the other things that you should have included in your first post, according to the forum rules, at the top of the forum, in this post (click here). Actually, several people, who are experts on this forum, will most likely not reply if you don't do what is written in that post. Your dimensions are reasonable. It has good possibilities! Right now you have a major issue with the height being exactly twice the length, but that will change will you build your MSM room-in-a-room, so it probably won't be a problem in the end. It will only be a problem if you don't isolate the room correctly. - Stuart -i'm setting up a rehearsal room in a basement 3 meter height, 4,20 meter long and 6 meter wide.
