Me again with hopefully that last post nail down the design. This time I'm wondering what the best way to go would be for the ceiling in the control room.
Here is the studio design : http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewt ... 0552#10552
and this is what I'm looking at doing so far. Thanks for the help!! Ron
Ceiling design for control room.

The one on the right will give you plenty of early reflection problems and flutter echo, unless that flat spot is absorbed fully - the one on the left, only slightly and possibly none, depending on accuracy of the drawings. However, the left one may cause more reflections off the desk depending on the angle your mixer surface presents - I'd still go with the left one, and put a cloud under it anyway... Steve
So what would be the best way to angle it aside from the left? I'm not sure of any other ways really. Or is the cloud idea the best way to go regardless. Ron.. Ron, with those beams/ductwork there I don't see much in the way of alternatives either - the left choice will give less ceiling/floor parallelism, so your "cloud" won't have to work as hard to keep problems away from your mix position. That seems like as good a way as I can see... Steve
allrighty then. Thanks Steve
