Hello all, I'm looking to build a room in an existing, attached two car garage. As I've read here and in Rod Gervais' book, I'd like to use one of Sepmeyer or Louden's ratios, but i'm having a hard time stomaching the fact that i'll be loosing so much floor space by doing this. My real question: in a 2000-2500 CF room, would it be preferable to stick to one of these six ratios, or use different ratios that would better conform within my existing structure, thus giving me more space? I've attached a sketchup of my room, any feedback greatly appreciated!

Welcome to your first compromise! :) Studio design is all about compromise, it seems. You can never get it perfect, so you just have to do the best you can. Sepmeyer, Louden and all the other ratios are just part of a family. I'm sure you can find something that will fit yoru space without eating up too much real estate, if you play around.
