Hi!
I am new here!!!   A bit stupid if it comes to forums... :yahoo:
Any case, here is a ground floor plan of a house I bought 7 day's ago and want to renovate it into my new studio. The only rooms I don't want to use is the 'down right' one and of coarse the bathroom... :finger: The whole area is a open plan with small steps from room to room indicated in the sketch with a thicker line! The only room that's separated from the rest is the one on the left and was basically used as a cellar by the previous owner...
Now my question is if someone can help me out on the design of a studio in this space, where is the best place for the control room, drum booth, vocal booth etc. and how it must be laid out sound proofed and dry walling etc. :blah: :blah: :blah: Basically the whole 'caboodle too-tie'???!!! I just downloaded the Google Sketch Up application, so if someone want's to draw out something in that to help me it would be grate, please send it to my e-mail so I can look at it and maybe edit on it so I can send it back again so you can have a look at it...(John? Can you help me as well? ) My e-mail: [removed]
Here is the picture's link: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak- ... 7615_n.jpg
:yahoo: If you need a better quality picture just give me your e-mail address!!! :yahoo:
Please help me out???
Where to begin in this space?

I think you missed the point of this site. Everyone here is willing to help you as you design your studio, find your mistakes, suggest improvements, as long as you follow the rules outlined in the stickies. However, if you want someone to design your studio for you, perhaps you should consider calling and hiring one of the experts that frequent this board - I am sure they will be willing to do so at the right price.
Hi Bob!
Thanks for the honest reply!!! I am situated in Cape Town, South Africa... I have a designer coming in on Monday, but would like to have suggestions to give to him cause he asked me to have something he can work with. So maybe I overdid myself by asking so much?! If there is just a little input on what I can do it would be much appreciated!!! :) Even if it's just what room will soot the best for the control room... I have drawn out a ruff sketch of how I would do it, but don't know Sketch Up that well yet to draw it out and post it on here... So if People can give me input I can apply it to my design. I am just scared that the guy will do me in by adding too much and shooting the cost of the studio to high! You know people, it's all about making the most money they can and pushing it to far and the material is A LOT more expensive here for us locals... :(
Thanks again Bob
Regards
Morné
There is an announcement at the top of the forum about what to do to assure getting as many responses as possible. Actually, several people, who are experts on this forum, will most likely not reply if you don't do what is written in that post. Many others who are very helpful, will most likely not reply out of respect for the moderators' wishes.
OK?! I assume you are talking about the "DONATE" button?! If I may ask what is the required donation for the type of information needed? Like I said in the beginning, I am stupid if it comes to forums!!! (This is my first one...so sorry for the inconvenience!)
Thanks

Good luck and don't stop posting and asking questions. There is a lot involved with studio design and building, and giving the usefull information upfront makes the process much easier. Of course it also focuses you thoughts on what you want in a structured manner also. The latter seems to be the greatest imprtance to you right now. AndreThanks!!! I'm doing that...
