I am the head of a college Music Production Technology program (AS degree) at Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, FL, USA. Our college is starting construction soon on a $30M+ Advanced Technology Center in which we will have a recording studio and classroom space. Although our program only began in Fall, 2009, we have over 60 students seeking a major in the program now. What I would like to know is who else is out there. I have visited only a couple of colleges to see their facilities (Berklee!), but would like to know what facilities are being used or planned for college programs. Currently, we have retrofitted an ensemble rehearsal space and instrument storage closet as our tracking room and control booth. The tracking room is apx. 25'x53' with a 10'+ ceiling. The control room is apx. 12'x22'. We use a C|24 control surface running ProTools LE 8 with a Dual Quad processor MacPro and we have a healthy inventory of mics and pre's.
