Hi, I’m very sorry that I didn`t find this forum 7 months ago. Because I’ve started to build up my little homerecording studio without a detailed plan in my cellar. I’ve got a plan for a recording room and I’ve tried to build it. Afterwards I’ve tried to “repair” my construction with the new knowledge from your forum and now I hope to find someone who could help me to get a useful acoustic for a hobby musican not for professional, commercial producing music. (AIM)
RECORDING SET-UP
Based around PC Cubase 5, Mackie Onyx 1640 + Firewire, Event Tr5
MAIN FEATURES
Control room, with vocal booth.
DESCRIPTION OF SPACE
My cellar
4,6 x 4,7 x 2,10 room.
I have tried to create my cellar inkl. pictures with sketchup, so you can better image my situation.
Sorry, it is too big and I don't know how I get it smaller.

What have I done until now?
I’ve built a little room, which doesn’t touch the walls. It stands on a impact sounds insulation. The walls (10cm thick) are plasterboards on each side with insulation. The ceiling consists of OSB board, glass wool 5cm / 40kg/m³, press board with hundreds of different holes, glasswool 5cm, thin film and cloth. I tried to correct the parallel walls with slot-absorbers.
1) Should I build some more in it?
Outside (my control room) I took the idea from scott little studio (flush mounted) with 12 degrees walls as absorbers.
I think I’ll take clouds (“like stiz build diary”) upon the ceiling and I have to build the rear wall as a big absorber but near the celling there are many pipes, and I don’t know how exactly I should construct this.
This is my situation now:
2) How should I create the back wall?
Should I build up a little wall to get more symmetric?
Something like this?
Or should I create acoustic hangers, something like this?
Thanks for reading!
I’m very thankful for statements and suggestions.
Thanks!
Dieter

I would be very grateful for help.
Does anyone have any idea how to make my rear wall?
Should I build a small wall or does it not make sense :?:
The rear wall looks fine Dieter - you need the rear wall to be as dead as possible.
Hi Dieter
Do you remember the advice i gave you long time ago,at another place, before you started the build?
Many thanks for the answer John. In the interim I have further built something.
I have considered your proposal and have also written back, but there didn't come any answer from you on your page. I'm content with this solution. I've thought about it for many hours.Hi Dieter Do you remember the advice i gave you long time ago,at another place, before you started the build?
