Hello, I'm building a small garage studio build out in Los Angeles and am trying to save money on the HVAC portion of my build.
Has anyone ever heard of one minisplit air conditioner with two wall vents? My thinking was to mount one wall vent on the control room side and the other on the studio side (on opposite sides of the wall so as to not have one big hole between the control room/studio) and close the studio vent when I'm only using the control room. Is this possible or even advisable?
Also, the garage has a gas line. Could this be used for heating to save on the electric bill?

There is an announcement at the top of the forum about what to do to assure getting as many responses as possible.
The announcement leads to this post (click here). Actually, several people, who are experts on this forum, will most likely not reply if you don't do what is written in that post. Many others who are very helpful, will most likely not reply out of respect for the moderators' wishes.
But regarding the gas line: I doubt that gas heating would be a good solution. Two problems: humidity, and CO2. The studio has to be sealed air-tight in order to isolate properly.

Thanks Stuart. I thought I'd given all the pertinent info that had to do with the question (location, garage build, etc.). I'll be more specific and post plans next time. From other information I've gathered, what I was asking is available, though no recommended because:
1. There is only one coil for the unit, causing it to work harder and less efficiently.
2. Repairs are not as easy (more costly) as on single units.
So I think I'll stick with two separate units. Thanks for the info about the heat. I'll just get two units with heat pumps then.
Sushy - you will need to get some fresh air into your rooms because a soundproof room is an airtight room.
