sorry guys - I've been in away in Sydney mixing an album and as you all know when you are mixing your mind is totally engaged in that one pursuit ;) Well I'm back now so anyone who hasn't got an answer to their probs please bump the thread and I'll try to pick it up for you. Thanks to Kase, Dave etc who have covered my ass while I was away. BTW the album has turned out OK - my client loves it - it was all mixed entirely in Nuendo which is defintely the way to go today IMO. Great program! We also had a UAD card but I only used the Dreamverb and the Cambridge EQ. The bummer was that I had to put down my longtime faithful mate, my Kelpie dog Mr Zig. His prostate was fucked and had gone cancerous - no hope for repair. cheers John
Glad to hear you about the album, anything to look for? Sorry to hear 'bout Mr Zig, I know how that is. Just keep some pictures around. Ron
ey John, good to have you back. sorry bout mr. zigs. I think your right about Nuendo (although i use SX 2). I read in last months Sound on Sound that mackie is coming out with a large (motofader) controller at a competing price. Might be good to watch out for it. My future setup might have something like that augmeted by a couple of nice mike-pres & a good ad/da. Cheers Anton
Welcome back! Glad to read that the album went well. Sorry about Mr. Zig. Andre
Sorry to hear about Mr. Zig. Puting down animals is a hard thing to do. Glad to hear another positive for Nuendo. I agree and am currently writing an extensive book on using Nuendo. I've been mixing in it for 6-8 months now. They got it going on for mixing with PDC. -bassman
Welcome back! Nice to hear you still mingle with us low life engineers and musicians out in the field! :D I'll be intouch with you later this week.
Thanks guys about Mr Zig - I'll always miss him but it's freed me up a lot in other ways. ;) Cool to see other nuendo users around here - bassman - this is the second album I've done totally in the box as they say. I can't fault nuendo really -I love it - I had a P4 3 gig with a gig of ram and a 21" LCD. Never crashed once! The only additions I'd like is to bring back the ability to click forward and back through your tracks in the EQ/effects page and I'd like a favourites for the right click options. Oh - and I'd like to be able to change the order of inserts - only soundforge alows that in it's pluggin section but it's a great option. Cool Carl - I sent you an email to let you know I'm back anyway. :) cheers john
