seems to be an alternative to 703 rigid fiberglass.
anyone worked with this stuff?
I'm very allergic to fiberglass and building a new home studio soon,
this new stuff is green friendly and I'm betting does not itch like crazy like 703 dust
and could save my fiberglass rash!!!!!!
anyone????

What are the acoustic properties, as tested by an independent acoustic lab? What is the density? What is the gas flow resistivity?
I looked for those briefly on their website, but couldn't find them at first glance /maybe I didn't look hard enough). Without that, it's impossible to say.

will forward thread to company to see if we can get a response
They do give some figures for STC in standard wall frames - double stud wall with 4" ecobatt and one layer of 5/8" drywall gives STC 56. They don't offer any absorption figures though.
Knauf are a reputable company so I reckon it would be fine as an alternative to rigid fibreglass provided you use the 4" version.
John,
this material is not a substitution for rigid anything - it is a fluffy fiberglass insulation . The stuff we install inside wall cavities except they are using a different binder - which is why they are giving it STC ratings inside walls - and why they are NOT providing us with absorption coefficients like rigid fiberglass...........
Sorry - this is not the same as 703 - not even in the same ballpark.........
The hard cold facts are that it is standard fiberglass with a new Green Binder to hold the fibers together....... they got rid of the formaldehyde binder.
Dave,
I always wonder why people go find something and then (instead of taking a moment to read the literature that is right in front of them) run here or there asking other people for their opinions.
If you had spent even 45 seconds reading their available literature you would have already know what I am telling you...........

I stand corrected :)
John, I wasn't really correcting you - I was correcting the OP - I can understand you being much too busy to work your way all through a site - your advice to the OP was rock solid........ Have a great day, RodI stand corrected :)
