Hi everyone, I'm planning the interior of my studio build. I'm thinking of using a local material (Harris Tweed) for the bass traps/false walls. I'm stuck on colours, lighting etc. I'm not much of an interior designer! What's the most beautiful recording studios that you have seen?
As an exercise I have been reducing most any room dimensions I can get or create into the corresponding musical note(s). Having that information has been beneficial to me(and maybe only me) in my search for accuracy. http://www.phy.mtu.edu/~suits/notefreqs.html But you can take the note that corresponds with the natural frequency of a wall, multiply that by 41 and you have a number the relates directly to the one octave color spectrum we as humans can actually see with the bare eye. http://www.lunarplanner.com/Harmonics/p ... onics.html My walls dimensions, the length and width, relate to the colors red and orange/yellow respectively. I painted the room burnt orange about 2 ish years ago! Odd coincidence I find this relation so long after the room had already been painted. It's a little long hair I suppose... Brien

The mind boggles... :) - Stuart -
Hey Brien, Can you post a couple pics of your studio? That's the same color scheme I'm thinking about using and I would love to see what it really looks like before I do it. Also, what are your dimensions? Thanks, Byra
knowing my luck it would end up bright pink!

Well, burnt orange isn't really a scheme but gimme a few days and I can get something posted. Brien
Hey Brien, Well, I meant burnt orange on the walls with burgundy cloth on the panel absorbers and maybe on the corner traps. I'm worried that it might be too intense, but I do like the way it looks on paper. I'm looking forward to seeing pics of your room. I still have about a month to make the decision. Thanks, Byra
