Hello all,
Im in Richmond, Va and have just ordered my glass which will be 30"W x 25"H 1/2" thick and 3/4" thick laminated pieces. My question is which side should the 3/4" go on, the live section or the control room? I know this has been answered in a post I read but for the life of me I can’t find it again! My room was 20.5'L x 10.5'W and I have now separated the rooms with the live area being 9' and CR 11'. The wall is 2"x8" header and footer with staggered studs giving me a 1/4" air gap between studs. The live room is made of Resilient Channels + 5/8 Drywall + Green Glue + 1/2" Drywall. Control room is just 5/8" + GG + 1/2" cause I ran out of RC's. The remainder of the room has been treated with RC's, Double layer drywall, and Sheetblok in some areas. My glass should be here in a week so please help me out. I will continue to search the forum as well.
Thanks,
Terry

The density of the glass should match the density of the rest of the leaf. Not sure how that works out in your case, but that is the general idea.
I'd have the heavier glass (i.e lower resonant frequency) on the control room side.
Thanks for the reply my glass should be in after two weeks. So far the wall works extremely well, I had my JCM800 in there and cranked it with very low bleed through the wall, hopefully the glass will not change its effectiveness too much.
