Aloha, My name is "Dave" I have just signed up on this site, but have been droping in briefly over the years....John (and others), thanks for putting the energy into this. It is very informative. Here's my story: I am a General Contractor by day and a Bass player the rest of the time. I am on the Big Island...Hawaii, South Kohala. My company built a Studio here in Hawaii under the direction of Chris Pelonis back in 2001 (Mix magazine Class of 2001). I have a studio in my warehouse now that we do record in. I have just started construction on my new home. I have appropriated about 900sf. of floor space with 12' high wall heights and vaulted ceiling for this new studio....this is where I would love to get your folks advise....how to lay it out. I would be happy to donate $ to your site for some good advise. I would like to submit my plan, in the correct forum here, along with all the associated information required to get a response from you folks. My question is this....I have a pdf plan of my house showing the new studio(Hobby Room) each sheet is 705kb. I believe three sheets would be apropriate...floor plan, elevation, and reflective ceiling plan. Is it OK to attach these plans for review? Or do I draw them on the sketch program talked about on this site? I am computer challenged and will certainly make mistakes with posting information. A little advise would be appreciated. Thanks (mahalo) "Dave"

Welcome Dave to JLS! There is a noticw at the top of the forum indicating what information is needed to give the best advice to you.
Please note and absorb my tagline. The percentages refer to time.
Good luck and happy posting.
Andre
Too late with your tagline help Andre, cause I've ...." been dazed and confused so long it's not true"......... "wanted a studio; one that is brand new".
I'm just trying to avoid "sketching up" my plan and just send in the pdf file that my architect did. I am aware of the other info that I will supply with the plan.
Thanks for your response,Dave
Obviously not... :0
Oooooops ...That was a response to your profile tagline.
I just noticed your "Design" tagline........BRILLIANT!!! just wish I could live by that advise.
Dave
Sorry guys...I think I'm starting off on the wrong foot here. My fault.I will sketch up my floor plan using "sketch-up" and submit along with the necessary information. Thanks,Dave

Please correct your initial post to conform with these rules and guidelines. Many here will not only NOT help while waiting in respect for owners and other better qualified persons to proceed, but will simply ignore these type of posts completely.
You may want to immediately ask "what is it that I have missed". Most often it is as simple as including your geographical location in your profile. It might be that you have not included your budget!
Trust me in that the more you know the better others can help you and that the answer to that question is in the forum rules linked page.
Until then, good luck,
Brien
