Building for the First time!

Hello everybody. My father is going to let me use a small office space he's been renting out to make a recording studio. I've always recorded artists in my room at home and im sure you all know the problems associated with that environment. i dont have excact dimensions yet but i plan on going this week to measure everything. I know the importance of Acoustics and acoustic treatment but i'm not sure how to apply it. Can anyone offer me advice/tips/strategies on what to do and how to do it? Sincerely PRE P.S The vocal booth will be in the same room as the control room.
