Hello Everyone, I am new here and this is a great forum! Quick question...we're building a 10'x16' sound booth in a commercial building that has sprinklers in a drop ceiling. The local fire marshal told us that NFPA 13 codes require us to have a sprinkler system in the sound booth itself. I have never seen a sprinkler system in a small sound booth! Not only would it cost us money, but it would cause a huge problem in the construction, not to mention the integrity of the acoustics. And if the sprinklers ever accidentally went off then you can imagine the cost in damage to mics, keyboards, equipment, etc. Has anyone had to fight this battle with the fire marshal? Can you get a variance with sound booths? I have seen Karaoke kiosk-type sound booths in malls and they do not have sprinkler systems in them. Any insight? Thanks! Mark

You may want to immediately ask "what is it that I have missed". Most often it is as simple as including your geographical location in your profile. It might be that you have not included your budget! Trust me in that the more you know the better others can help you and that the answer to that question is in the forum rules linked page.
