Ppl from this forum . . . Thanks in advance for your contribution...
3 years ago i found this forum and from this i´v built my second studio in 3 years :
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=8109
It was a journey and a very good one. Unfornatly, my landlady has "invited" me to leave and i have to, 2 years after completing, destroy my beutifull studio that took 8 months to build.
Iv found a new place but it´s far from ideal... It´s a second floor room, the last floor of the building, and i have two 29 square meters rooms conected by a 5 m2 hall. I intend to do the studio in one room and the office in another.
My last studio was a box in a box ( only missing on the floor) whith double walls and all isolation i could get. It was hard work and now i have to destroy it. So this time, as the place is also rented, im wondering how can i use the space on a temporary basis ? So i can be looking for a place of my own whyle still producing on a studio. I have a promisse of a good space but only in the end of the year, so i want to wayt until i build it again.
I can use all the material i have in this studio - allot of pine, pink isolation, and evertything you can see in my building. I think the gypsum is hard to use again, but the rest is there...
OPTION A : temporary tecniques and materials.
OPTION B : building the studio using the materials i have, but not using double walls and a box in a box. That could result on quick building .
Can i have your thoughts and ideas ?

Djo,
What are you transmission loss requirements?
Temporary is difficult where high transmission loss is required. Have you done any site measurements? ambient noise, wall & floor construction and thickness, etc.
Cheers,
John
Hi John...
We dont have the equipment to measure here. Unfornatly . . . I can make a research to see if anyone has it but, i think not...
Transmission loss requiremnts ??!! I dont have it . . .
The floor and ceiling it should be a 20cm+ concrete slab. The walls a 20cm of brick... This week i will put the exact measurments and photos.
I have an oportunity in the end of the year, and i think it´s better to improvise now until then, and build a good studio on that other place in November, if the oportunity confirms. So until then, i would like to improvise a studio in this room i have available now.

okay then.. you only need to treat that room
Start with good bass trapping... There is some excellent info at Ethan's site http://www.realtraps.com/articles.htm and GIK http://www.gikacoustics.com/education.html and my papers http://www.javakustik.com/Page374.html.
Cheers,
John
Djo,
Please include your room measurements so we can understand this space better. Even though broad band corner absorption, what many call bass trapping, is almost always recommended, this kind of information can be found here @ http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2 so it isn't necessary to go somewhere else to get what most of those companies mentioned have already included in this fantastic resource that John Sayers provides for us.
Looking forward to your work
