New Studio - First Time

Hi there, i'm very new at this, so excuse any misconceptions i may have. My family are about to commit to a renovation of our house and in this we plan to turn our existing garage into a recording studio. As i'm only 17 i have a limited knowledge as to what things i need in terms of construction, layout and design of the studio and would love some help on the matter? We are located in Melbourne, Australia The live room is going to be 2.5 X 4 Metres The Control room will be 5 X 4 Metres. How should these be designed (more the live room)? Should i use floating walls between the live and control rooms? Should i use a window between the two? Any other important information i need to know? Greatly appreciate any response Thanks Sam

Sam, What will the finished ceiling heights be? Have the rooms been built yet? Those dimensions are very small. Cheers, John
