Hello everyone! My name is Eric Nagle and I Live in Rochester NY. I went to school for audio engineering in NYC, and for a living I am a builder and general contractor. Ive always wanted a studio, but I just couldn't bring myself to making one in in my house. Well, I stumbled across a solid three story concrete building for the right price and it turns out the basement is a fortress. It literally has 2,000 pound vault doors that used to lock off a 3,000 sq. ft all concrete fur vault. It had to be climate controlled for the furs so there is already 8 inches of solid cork over the walls and ceilings for insulation purposes. The area is pretty open with the exception of 4 pillars. I tried including a sketchup file that has pretty accurate dimensions but its 3 Mb which seems to be to big. If someone could help me downsize it i could upload it, but the space is basically 50 x 55 feet with a little under 10 ft ceilings (length 15.25m, width 16.75m, height 3m). I own the whole building, and I am putting a martini lounge on the floor above, so isolation is important, but since I will most likely only use the studio when the lounge is closed, Im not too worried about transmission. I still would like to float everything, but I cant spend $30,000.00 USD on isolation alone if you know what I mean. I would like to only occupy approximately half the basement. The other half will more than likely used for storage, but I am open to all suggestions. I think at this point I would like to do a single control room, a vocal booth, a live room, and possibly a drum room. I do a lot of production so a place to have lots of keyboards and electronics is a must. I have been collecting gear for about 10 years now so Its gonna take up a lot of space. I have a 32 channel console so i need room for that too. Im excited about all the input im going to get. I know this is going to be a big, lengthy project, I have done my homework, and like I said, I am a builder. If anyone is interested in coming up with exact plans for a commission I would entertain them as I am a busy guy. Thank you so much.

Thanks for the suggestion. I e-mailed him that day but he has not responded. I think I figured out some dimensions that are proportionate to the ones John used in one of his sketchup uploads. I took a snapshot of the rendering. I think its the best layout to make half the space rental units or practice spaces (at .70/ sq. ft. that will pay me 1200.00 a month), and a decent size CR, a vocal booth/sound-lock, and a live room that would be big enough to mic up some drums or an acoustic guitar rig. At a later date I could incorporate the other rooms to be production or MIDI suites or more live room space. Any thoughts or suggestions? Anyone?
