Looking for design software

Besides Google Sketchup are there any free or inexpensive 3D design programs out there that you guys would recommend. My searches have given me dozens to choose from and I'm just trying to whittle down my options. thanks

I don't think there are any free or cheap 3D cad programs better than sketchup.

I was thinking the same thing: Anything better most likely would not be free, and anything free would not be better. SketchUp is pretty darn good, if you ask me!
