I've noticed these pads are pretty expensive, are there any alternatives? I've heard of people using innertubes cut into squares and stacked on top of each other, also saw someone used playground mats cut up. Any other ideas? Maybe like a rubber yoga mat or something? Thanks, B
What are you trying to do? The appropriate material depends on the frequencies to be isolated, the weight of the supported items, and the amount of space avaliable for the material, amongst other things. Neoprene is not expensive, in and of itself. Well sprung, Andre
WAs thinking of using this under the new wall frames to decouple them from the concrete floor. Just having a hard time finding this locally. Thanks B
The cheapest method is to use the playground mats you refered to. They are typically 1/2" thick and you cut them into 4" strips and run them under all your wall frames. They also seal the bottom of the frame and allow for variation in the surface of the concrete which is typically uneven. http://www.johnlsayers.com/Guruland/Pages/page2.htm
