Can anyone tell me what distance in need to keep my high voltage/romex power lines away from my audio lines in the walls and ceiling of my studio to avoid interference? Or give me a link to a thread that is already talking about this. Thanks Drew
Please read the forum RULES (stickies) that can be found at this link: viewforum.php?f=17 Please correct your initial post to conform with these rules and guidelines. Many here will not only NOT help while waiting in respect for owners and other better qualified persons to proceed, but will simply ignore these type of posts completely. You may want to immediately ask "what is it that I have missed". Most often it is as simple as including your geographical location in your profile. Trust me in that the more you know the better others can help you and that the answer to that question is in the forum rules linked page. Until then, good luck, Brien P.S. Electrical usually comes from overhead while audio/video comes from the bottom side of a wall. Many an on line expert has said that maintaining a 12 inch clearance between parallel power/audio lines will work to reduce and or diminish hum. Frankly I wouldn't do it because it is easier to install your electrical wires from the top and you audio/video from the bottom.
Ok, updated my location on my profile is that the only thing I did wrong? Read the rules and that looks like the only thing I missed.
I feel confident that your question was answered correctly :)
Yep. And adding to xSpace's answer, if you do have a place where signal and power cables must cross paths, then make sure they do so at a 90° angle. - Stuart -
