Hi,
well, after change the old studio for the bedroom, it's time to build the new studio. It's a small room, with a door to a not a nosiy street and other room to the corridor. In a second floor. Not isolation needed (or is not possible for the dimensions). Because of th door I can do the back side symetrical so I choose to make it by this way, I think there is no problem, isn't it? This part is made by a mix of high absortion and a port to bass traps, can it work properly?
Well, what do you think about the deign?
It's only for composing and mixing my own music. Recording some voices and guitar, but eventually, not for recording third's music.
Well here are some pics. Oh, of course it is based in the "smallstudio" and " components" of John.
Thanks :)

Hi papaver,
A few questions:
1. what materials did you use in your ceiling. do you have a cloud or any absorption on the ceiling?
2. Are your monitors passive? I don't see a heat vent so I was wondering about the heat build up.
3. On the rear wall, how are those hangers working for you? I am afraid that my hangers on my build will be to small to be effective and it looks like your hangers may be in similar.
4. And most importantly, how does your room sound?
Thanks,
-Chris
I've got a question too. What's the dimensions of your room?

Hi,
1. Yes, I have a cloud made of 3 panels of rigid rockwool. At the beggining I was going to build an entire ceiling but I really don't need it. The cloud works well. Is in the mixing point.
2. Monitors are active: Mackie HR624. I have build the heat vents, but it don't appear in the photo. It are too high. I worked 6 hours continuosly and it work fine (the HR625 have a circuit that stops the amplification in case of overheat). I'll see it in august, eith the highest temperatures.
3. The hangers works very well. The solcionate the little number of it I covered all the wall with insulation, so there is no direct vent to the hangers. So it's like a double trap (mid and bass). It works very well. John sayed here to a guy that maybe this will create overabsortion, but I can't compare with other studios.
4. The sound is amazing! Probably it don't sound like the pro's but I'm really happy. The stereo image is very clear, if you close your eyes you can see every instrument in his place.
All the frecuencies are ok. Maybe it's too loud on the highest frecs and with some productions it's a little irritating, specially with the "s" of the singers but that's not really important.
The mids are very defined and reveals a lot of information.
The lows are in his place. there isnt any annoying stacionary wave that disturbs increasing or decreasing the frecuencies. This is very satisfying. I have aplied the -4db filter on the mackies to avvoid the increase of low frecuencies produced by the soffit mounting, but maybe the cut is too high and the bass frecuencies seems to be too low, but it are very clear. In the other room it sounds more powerfull but maybe is fore the room modes.
Anyway it sounds very good, and this are minor problems. Now I can work very fast, in a second I can see if a sounds work or not and the place that should stay. It was worth the work.
5.The room is 2,7 - 4,3 - 2,8 meters
Wow! Amazing! Good job! Basically all I need! Wish I had the space to do that too!
