Hey guys! I've seen a bunch of posts regarding facing the speakers into the corners, but in my current do-what-you-can-with-what-you-have basement room this is about the best I can do. What I'm planning to do is cut off one corner with a 2x4 studwall, making a 4'6 wide flat spot that will effectively be the front wall. On the left and right walls adjacent to that, I'll build angled absorbers similar to John's design into the stud cavities to keep parallel flutter echoes from happening, and on the 2 walls behind me I'll absorb as much as I can. Anyway, I'm wondering if it'll be worth my while to put acoustic hangers in the corner I'm cutting off there. The biggest one will only be 1'9" wide, probably 7' tall... is that big enough to make a difference? The design manual mentions hangers that are considerably bigger- if I'm wasting my time, I'll do something else there... Thanks! Kase www.minemusic.net
Kase - I've used hangers that are only 3' x 1', like in a ceiling. So I reckon it would be worthwhile. cheers john
Good enough. I have a 7'6 high space to put them in, but it's just a little corner so some of them will only be 8" wide. Thanks a bunch John! Kase www.minemusic.net
