I´ll be turning my 1 car garage into a small tracking/mixing studio. First of all I´ll be using the old garagedoor hole as a big bass trap ( see pics). One (out of many) question is whether 200mm/8" of rock wool for the false ceiling is enough to absorb some of the low frequencies? As for the garage door hole, instead of using 1 row of bass hangers (as the pics show), will 2 rows add a much bigger difference or will it be a small difference (and how low can the bass trap absorb)? The garage will be 20,5 sqmeters or 219sqft not including the bass hanger area. Is the small size a really big problem for taming tha bass frequencies?
