Just curious if anyone has used this and how it differs from laminate and tempered. It looks like a normal pane has an STC of about 32
The difference is far and wide from laminate or tempered. Windows with an E rating are designed for the thermal properties it can give to a residential home. I do not know about the stc points on one of these, but I doubt it is very high, maybe a few points higher then a typical double insulated window due to the gas, but that is a w.a.g. The mass is also less then tempered or laminate, so it has those short comings as well. But they are good for the thermal envelope so if the exterior of a building is being considered, then you could do worse :)
