Hello from Russia and thanks for having such a great forum, guys!
I'm planning a personal studio space in the new wooden country house.
The studio will be at the upper level which is a large empty loft with a triangular roof.
The dimensions of this level are around 8.5 x 10 meters wide and 4.3 m high.
About 2/3 of this space (the right part with one window) could be dedicated to my studio. I'm a composer/songwriter, so the main function is to write, arrange, and listen music, recording it with a DAW. Therefore, I need a proper control room. Also I'd like to have a vocal/live booth attached for doing occasional vocal/guitar tracks.
The rest 1/3 will be used as a bedroom.
I'm not loud, and the house is next to the woods so neighbors are not an issue. No conduct codes apply. The budget is around USD 10,000. A wide range of soundproofing materials is available on the market.
As you see, the space isn't small, but.. it has loft-like angled 45° walls, which are not good for sound, right?
Below is the one of my planning sketches, where the vocal booth is on the upper left, the control room on the left and bedroom on the right. But I'm not sure how it would sound because of angled walls.
How would you plan this space from scratch?
The Sketchup file is attached. Thanks in advance!

to have a symmetrical contrtol room, you will need to run the room 90 degree. either left to right or top to bottom.
the way you have to now does not have a symmetrical ceiling line.
I would divide the space in halve with a hall way from the stairs.
studio one side, bedroom the other,
lilith_envy, thanks for your feedback. Here's more symmetric configuration, with the control room on the left and vocal booth in the middle. Looks better?
How would you place bass traps in the control room? Keeping in mind the outer window.

John, thanks for pointing to this valuable thread!
Though my room is larger and walls are angled all the way.
Attached is my updated configuration. Now I'm about to determine the internal form of the control room (the right one on the pic), with traps and resonators. Anyone willing to help?
Actually, what John showed you is exactly like your room.
The difference is that there are knee walls already installed [Johns link] so that you cannot see the "wall", or rafter meeting to the floor and creating that large triangle.
It is a good layout that you should not dismiss so quickly, reason being is that all those tight angled corners are going to be going away in your build, you just are not aware of it yet. When they do go away it will be by means of shorter walls [knee walls] and boundaries installed into the space you are considering building in.
Thanks, xSpace, I do appreciate the mentioned model! Going to adapt it within my room's dimensions. I'm just not that good in bass traps and acoustic "polygons" so I'm afraid of simply copying and pasting something...
