Cost for a qualified engineer to design my addition?

Hi, I have been studying Rod's book and reading this forum and others for a long time and feel like I have a pretty good handle on the basics of acoustically isolated construction. However, Im worried that after I get the plans for my addition completed and get it built, that there will be some glaring mistake(s) Ive made that ruins the isolation. So Im thinking that I should either 1) leave the whole design to an engineer that specializes in this or 2) Have an engineer go over my finished plans and make changes as required. If Im spending 60k on this thing, it would be wise to make sure Im going to get what I want in terms of isolation. So my questions are: 1) How do I find a qualified engineer locally? 2) Do I really need to use a local engineer or could we work over the internet/phone? 3) What do you think it would cost for either of the 2 scenarios above (full design vs plan review)? Thanks!
I'd suggest that you contact John directly: I think he offers a service (for a small fee) to do just that. - Stuart -
