Hi guys - what a wonderful forum. Been browsing for weeks but now have serious question. Basically, is it necessary to float the floor area of a soundlock and, will it need to be walled in a similar way to the rest of the walls (standard mass-spring-mass construction).
Hope someone can help.
Loads more info if required but no piccies yet.

A very silly question about soundlocks

No it's not necessary to float the floor area of a soundlock but you will have to step down into it and step back up again into the next room. The best solution is to build a separate floor section in the lock that doesn't touch the two separate floors.
