Hello again chaps. Here is the studio design to date. Any advice would be very welcome. I have never done this sort of thing so I am a complete noob. The room next to the studio is going to be a massage room. So, needless to say it needs to be excellent isolation between these rooms. How are the room sizes in general? I was planning on doing log cabinish type walls. I was hoping this would give me good diffusion for the live room. I am curious which walls would serve best for this purpose. Should I do one in the control room as well? I guess I have a lot of questions regarding treatment for this design. I will be doing bass traps in all the corners. I was thinking of a fabric wall to help tame the room a bit. Again, not sure which wall would serve best. This was the best solution I have come up with so far. Sorry for so many questions. Thanks again.
My plans thus far for a small studio.

Ok i thought I uploaded the sketch up file on here but I dont seem to see it? Hmmmm.
Ok sorry file was too big. Got it all sorted out now.
It's looking OK.
Can you draw in your doors(internal and external)
I love the log cabin idea.
you will still need heaps of corner traps and maybe even an absorbent ceiling.
I wonde how you will go about building corner trap over the peaks and nulls that the log create.
The doors are drawn in there. I will make a link to the sketch up file so you can see them better.
I was also curious about the corner traps meeting with the log wall. I figure that the logs are only for the finish. So they will be planed off and not a full log. I think I can just meet them at the bass trap and stop there. Not build them all the way to the actual corner of the wall.
Thanks for the input. :D

Hi Jay,
It might help if you could label your rooms, to show which is going to be your CR, LR, vocal booth, massage room, etc. I can see what looks like your vocal booth OK, but I don't see any room with enough symmetry to be a control room, and nothing that looks like a console, so it's hard to figure what goes where. Labels on the rooms and furniture would help lots!

Sorry I have a friend of mine doing the sketch up. I dont know how to use it. I am sure I could figure out how to label it though.
The vocal booth is in the corner of the live room. The CR is connected to the live room above. It has one thing labeled that is the rack in the CR. Dont mind all the couches. Haha. On the left is the massage room and above that is the bathroom. Hope that helps.
edit: I labeled the rooms. If it helps the console is a Trident 80b and the things labeled 24 and 2 are the tape machines. I will try and have him do a revision soon. The window and door in the CR to LR will be replaced to a sliding glass door as well.
