Hello forum, I am in the process of designing/building treatments for my new control room. I have been playing with bass trap designs, and I have a deep-bass trap design that seems like it should work. I am looking for input from some of the knowledgeable folks on this forum. Please see the linked SketchUp file for design details. I have posted a .skp file online, as it's too big for the 500kb limit imposed by the forum/server. In that SketchUp file, if you set your animation settings to: Enable Transitions, and 0 seconds Scene Delay, then play the animation from the first scene, it does a pretty good job of demoing the design and build concept. Or, you could just thumb through the scenes manually. Whatever you like! The file can be found at this link: http://www.filehosting.org/file/details ... Module.skp I have a couple of questions regarding this design. First off, you'll note that I've placed the fiberglass in front of the perforation tubes as opposed to behind them. Based on my research, this should work the same either way, but I've never actually seen/heard it specifically stated like that anywhere Secondly, because the resonator tubes extend from the outside surface of the trap into the air cavity, I'm wondering if I should calculate cavity depth from the front mouth of the tubes (where they penetrate the wood cover), or the rear of the tubes (the mouth that extends into the air cavity)? My research would indicate the front of the tubes, where they penetrate the cover. But once again, I am inferring here, as I've never seen/heard it said in a way that relates to my design. Also, this is only one of three different style bass traps that are all designed to work together. They're all basically 3'x3' modules that are meant to stack together two high, and form a RFZ around the mixing position. I'll post more files of the whole system as/if this thread develops. Anyway, this particular model is one of two that will stack directly behind the speakers. If you were to make a copy of the grouped model, flip it on it's blue axis, and then stack it directly on top of itself, then you'd see the whole module. Absorbent directly behind the speakers; helmholtz resonators above and below the speakers. As I said, I'll post more files if there's any interest. Please let me know what you think, and if there is some serious error in my design. Thank you!!! -MM
Here's the complete corner module sans hardwood trim and stretch fabric covers: http://www.filehosting.org/file/details ... Module.skp This is one of two corner modules that form a sort of soffit along the front wall of the CR. Note that it's actually composed of 4 separate modules. Obviously, the two helmholtz resonators can be tuned independently of each. There's also another four modules on each side of the mix position (comprising slat and porous absorber modules) that snuggle up to these guys to complete the RFZ. Once again, animation settings of 2 second Transitions and 0 second scene delay presents a pretty good walk-through. I'm in the middle of a redesign of the side modules, and I'll post those files later. Please let me know what you guys/gals are thinking!
BOX.NET Anything else is just uncivilized :) p.s. I will not give anyone my email address just to look at a file...it's too much too ask really :)

Good enough. Here's the links on Box.net: http://www.box.net/shared/t4aatudgyx and http://www.box.net/shared/skl35pggqr Thanks for the suggestion. I've never used web based file hosting before, so I didn't know which one to use. Thanks again for the suggestion!
Here's some pics: Here's the basic frame work of one module.

There are several module types. Each specific type of module stacks together two high. The modules go together to to form a RFZ that wraps around the mix position. The particular module in question here is a deep bass, perforated panel type helmholtz resonator. The trap utilizes tubes instead of simple holes in order extend the low frequeny range of the device. Here's a few pics for demonstration purposes:

Looking for input on this module per my original post.
