Hello, I'm wondering what the best and most effective way to place the horizontal studs in the frame is, what distance should you put them from each other? What I basically mean is, is there any reason for putting the horizontal studs closer than 120 cm(the width of drywall) to each other when attaching drywall, for instance 60, for more durable lasting or stronger construction when attaching the drywall to screw it in the middle too? Thanks!
Std construction is 16" OC for stability. you can go 24, but will have more "flex" in your drywall layer. Not certain you really want that.
1200mm would not be legal! 600mm is great. 450 mm is OK. YOu would normally lay the dry wall horizontally anyway. Which is where the noggens come into play. the noggens would be 1200 off the ground and if your wall height is great than 2400, you add another noggen at 2400.
