Any body using the any acoustics apps for the I phone/Ithingy. From http://www.Studiosixdigital.com I have downloaded a couple of apps an RTA, SPL meter and RT60 meter. All seem pretty cool for a quick check of room acoustics in the live environment and have give me a rough guesstimate of what to put right in my studio. I was quite surprised to see how close the rta was compared to the software that I use room eq wizard from theatre shack. When I get home I will upload the screen shot from i phone for a all to view. Just a bit curious to see what the boffins reckon! Steve
I think the software is fine, but are you using the in-built mic to take the readings? I'd imagine it lacks alot of bass freq, which is the area we all care about.
I am using the internal mic but the software manufacturers state that they have created a filter to flaten out the I phone mic. To be honest I have A B checked the app against the theatre shack eq wizard thing and they were pretty close to be honest. I am using the app for getting a rough idea of what an enviroment is like before I measure up using room eq wizard. I have had some nightmares in the past where I have aggreed to help someone sort there control room out and then found the room to have lumpyest bass end that co0uld have been entered for the world lumpyest bass end listening enviroment comp and romping away with firsat prize trust me horrid!!! Just after seeing what people think of it.
