Hey guys, I'm looking to put my live room in my basement and have my conrtol upstairs. The only problem is I have a town home so i have neighbors on each side. The house was built in the 1920's so the walls down there are thick but i still think it needs some more. I was thinking of finishing the basement with 2x4s and dry wall. Has anyone ever put concrete bricks in between the drywall like where insulation would be? Is that at all a good idea? Any comments would help. Thanks guys!! --Justin
If you have a detailed type of installation for a wall assembly that is accepted by the Industry then you can use it for your build. If you are making up stuff or a friend of a friend is saying "what if"...then you should lose it and stick with what you can verify. What you are suggesting is attempting to build a three leaf wall assembly. Not only is it a 3 leaf, depending on your ability it could be a potentially dangerous scenario that could hurt bodies :)
