Hello I'm looking into treating my mastering room in the UK and am debating whether to buy some Ghost or Gik panels. Its already sounding pretty good and I get good results, I'm just looking into tightening the bottom end up a bit. Room is 8ft wide, 10ft long and 8ft High. Parrellell concrete walls. I've attached a diagram. Its a carpeted floor, and theres quite a bit of stuff at the back of the room ( armchair in the back right corner and drums in bags & general studio gear, vinyl etc. ). Other notes, I have a net curtain over the window. I'm thinking Ghost Studio Kit 1 could be the way to go, 1 x Big Block ( behind the monitors ) and 2 x Corner traps in corners nearest to the monitors. I looked into Gik and they seem to go more for corner traps than panels behind the monitors. I'm not looking to spend loads, £600 is what I'm talking. Ideally I'd get some fabric on the ceiling so any cheap suggestions for that would also be useful. Thanks in advance

As someone in the business, but not affiliated with either company, I'd definitely recommend GIK. A room the size of yours needs corner bass traps much more than panels behind the speakers. Your speakers don't face that way, so that's probably the last place to worry about. More here: Front Wall Absorption Plus, the guys from GIK actually know something about acoustics. :cop: --Ethan
Thanks very much for your thoughts Ethan, thats good news as the big block behind the speakers was the most expensive! Do you think a panel on the ceiling would be worth investing in for a room my size ? I'm thinking a couple of corner bass traps in front of the desk prob be enough. I guess it best to just start off with 2 corner traps and see what difference that makes thanks again.

Yes, treating the reflection points with absorption is very important. More here: Early Reflections How to set up a room

I promise that will not be enough. But it should be enough to show you what improvements to expect from even more. --Ethan
How do you go with having two 8 ft dimension's? Is there a boulid up at 141Hz and 212Hz?
Not only that Lil, but "Its a carpeted floor, " and it is most likely a bedroom area. I would be interested, as one interested in how people achieve good sounds in small rooms, to see what has already been added to this room. Outside of the carpet.
