My idea is to build a plenum/soffit on the ceiling of the room (two, actually.. register/return) that quiets down any duct noise, and slows the air down significantly by making a large duct at the end.
The last item is a low-noise grill.. was thinking of something like this

Anyone have any better ideas? What do others use? (I tried searching, but apparently couldn't find the right search words.. came up with very little)
Low noise grill for air..

I am not all that impressed with the NC ratings - try checking out the Nailor Industries - they have some of the best NCratings on the market......
Thanks, Rod!
Any particular ones?
Big,
pick whatever suits your situation the best - what you plugged to was linear diffusors - so if that's what you need - compare those to the Nailor linears........
Rod
Well - I'm not married to linear diffusers particularly.. those just seemed like they might fit the bill for low-turbulence.
All things being equal - what do you normally recommend for a grill and/or diffuser?
I'm quite interested to know too... Which type of grill is best for low noise?
I haven't purchased them yet, but focusing on the FLV series from Nailor

The noise specs on those seem pretty good - velocity should be pretty low, so I'm thinking it SHOULD be ok.
Thanks biggator - they look good too!
