Greetings everyone,
Firstly, I would like to thank anyone in advance who would be kind enough to provide their input to this question. I have been reading through this forum for several months now, learning a wealth of information.
I am currently building a studio in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is located on the 1st floor of a 2-storey commercial building. The Live Room i've build is about 17' x 21' feet. With 11.3' high ceilings. All the internal partition walls are all Gyp board and the floor is wood.
First question, i going to built a plaster ceiling about 9" to 1.5' feet drop down from the original ceiling. Is it has to be parallel to the floor or can i do some shape on the plaster ceiling something like sliding down (one side higher and the other side lower)? or a "V" shape?
Second question, the 4 walls i will surrounding with 8' height acoustic panel. Is it ok with it?
Thank you.

What live room sound are you aiming for?
LIVE room? Dead room? Not dead not live sound?
Its all about what you want your room to sound like.
If you want to splay your ceiling, its cheaper to just build a reflective cloud over the drumkit or whatever you are going to record in there.
About the panels, same as above, how much absorption you want there? Its your call
