Background Basically this building was built by my father, and I got a section of it for myself. It was not built with the idea of playing music in it, but I got a section and tried my best with it. Please note this room is just a small section of a bigger building. The overall building size is 3-4 times size of my drum room. Purpose: Drum Room / Band Practice Room Dimensions of Room: 20ft x 10ft x 9ft High Construction of the room is as follows; Walls Constuction is hollowcore concrete blockwork with 100mm of acoustic insulation and 12.5mm plasterboard with taped joints and painted finish. Skirting Board all around the room. Floor Concrete with a floated timber floor. Underneath the timber floor is carpet Ceiling Ceiling has metal single-skin sheeting with 300 acoustic insulation and plasterboard finish, painted. Wall (on same side as door) 75mm timber stud with acoustic insulation and plasterboard finish, painted I know the construction of this room may not be ideal, but I wanna make the best of it. I just want to achieve a good sound. Goals/Question: I am custom building acoustic panels and traps etc for this room. I just want where to place the acoustic panels & traps & whatever else you may think I need in room to achieve the best sound possible. We may record in this room at some stage also. There is no problems with neighbours, I can be as loud as I want. I will be playing pretty loud. There will be guitar amps also placed just inside the door to the left, and one directly opposite, just under the window. Thanks to anyone who helps me out on this, all replies are very much appreciated! Thanks John

Hai John, welcome to the JLS forum. May I suggest you start reading the accoustic section of this forum and post your questions there (or a MOD could move this thread). In that section you'll find the answers to your questions, really. also check out Ethan Winer's web site; it's crammed with good info on placing absorbers etc. Do you homework and you''ll be buildin in no-time! cheers
