hi everyone.
tomorrow i'm building a cloud to be hung over the mix position, several broadband absorbers to
be wall mount and at least two corners with superchunk basstraps.
as we cannot get 703 in germany, i found the following product as substitute.
could you please confirm that i chose a product with the right acoustic properties?
heres what i want to use:
Rockwool
Termarock 40
1000mm x 625mm x 40mm
Density: 40 kg/m3
Flow Resistivity: 12 kg*s/m2
if you like to read further what i'm planning, heres the link to my thread in studio design:

Seems fine to me!
hello ro.
thanks a lot for your answer!
i'm building the cloud tomorrow, so a fast answer was needed before i buy the
wrong stuff...
cheers
simon
simon - before you add the cloth finish to the cloud make sure you wrap it in plastic otherwise every morning you will have a micro fine layer of dust on all your gear and console caused by the rockwool shedding and getting through the weave in the fabric.
thanks for the reply!
i read about that problem in this forum (probably one of your posts) and
bought a fleece for that purpose. but probably i should use some really thin
plastic foil too...
should i angle the cloud than because of the (high frequency) reflections caused by the plastic?
thanxs a lot
simon
you'll find the cloth stops too much high freq reflection.
