EQUIPMENT HELP!!! | John Sayers’ Recording Studio Design Forum archive

hi, me and my friends are going to start up a group.... were only doing vocals and i'm looking to buy equipment. I was wondering exactly what I needed for our studio.... I have the software, a laptop and speakers.... I'm assuming all i need is a mic and its accesories. This is what I found so far and i was wondering if this is all i need or effective stuff to have... were definetly on a short budget. Do I need cords and stuff too lol microphone http://www.guitarcenter.com/M-Audio-MXL ... 1173655.gc DOES THE M-AUDIO AUDIOBUDDY serve as a soundcard because my laptop doesn't have one.
