Whats the best insulation to use for me walls? 2 leaf system using air mass spring... the square slabs or the wool rolls? Full name would be great and a UK supplier? Thanks

Probably the best one is the cheapest one! depending on what you mean by "best". As long as it has a density of roughly 48 kg/m3, then it will work acoustically. But there are also issues of installation: Personally, I hate the rolls of pink fluffy fiberglass because it is itchy! It makes me itch just to THINK about installing that stuff. But it works. Semi-rigid stuff works just as well, and is easy to install. Mineral wool works too, and doesn't itch like fiberglass does. Rolls, batts or slabs: it's more of a personal choice about what you like to work with, and how much you want to pay, than it is a choice about acoustic properties. - Stuart -

Stu- Mineral wool is the one that itchs like hell... fiberglass i could sleep on it ! (we are using mineral now, and it itchs!)

so using the slabs, cut to size to fit in your studs like windows is as effective as using the rolls? I thought the rolls would be better? Ama put it all down to price for me then, and see whats most cost effective!
